living let live.

About a week ago, Agile had to let go of most of its design team. A lot of other changes were made throughout the company that are irrelevant to discuss; point being it was a tough time for all of us. My time with Agile was truly unique and creative in every sense. I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with such creative individuals and to have had such an amazing and talented mentor. With the situation as it is now, I will not be showing my work in Oakland this coming week for Fun-A-Day. However I in the process of finding alternative venues in the LA area in which I can display my work from Fun-A-Day. This past week I've spent cleaning/up-dating my portfolio. Check it out.

Definitely going to miss this guy.

Ah yes, but I cannot end this without sharing some very cool things that have been happening, have happened, and are to happen. First. Zerofriends; a creative collective of musician and artist had their last event this pass Saturday. The group made a temporary move down south from the SF home base and without cease had a very impressive three month run. Their exit could not be more grand. With guest performer Aesop Rock headlining the night and an appearance by showing artist Alex Pardee, did I mention it was FREE?  Zerofriends held it down, bringing back a the spirit of the Flux and some old school swag to a now socal hipster left coast.

Here's a video from the show Aesop did for Zerofriends last day in SF, back in November. I haven't spent anytime blogging about the astounding recognition underground hip hop alongside graffiti art has been receiving; it is no doubt, something to keep an eye out for. Recently the MoMA in Los Angeles, CA held an exhibition highlighting the roots and art of graffiti. It seems very ironic to take something meant for the streets, and put it in a gallery. However that is not to say that it should not be there. I find Art, especially fine art has a very hypocritical attitude about it. That is probably why artist like Carol Lee Schnemann and Nam Jun Paik are still so revolutional to me.  But I'll save that discussion for another blog. I leave with my own grand finale. Although losing a job may appear like a set back, like everything in life, nothing is permanent. I see this as an opportunity to grow, and maybe in retrospect this will have been what I needed to propel me further in the Art/Design world. And the turn around time as been a lot better then when I first started out in the summer. I had an interview today and two more scheduled for this week. God is good. Here is a track by The Visionaries. I have it on a blank CD--I still use those--in my old Chrysler; I think I've played it over a zillion times. Living Let Live.
